In the first game of the 2009 season, the Broncos had seven innings of shut out ball from three different pitchers. Joe Leitzke threw the first four innings without giving up a run, while Mark Reinke threw inning number five and six. Jed Reinke finished the inaugural outing by retiring all Hofa Park batters in the seventh without a run scoring.
Leading the way offensively for Bonduel was J.C. Reinke hitting 2-4, Craig Hartlaben 2-3 scoring two runs and contributing three RBI's. Jason Wesenberg went 1-2 with three RBI's and Joe Leitzke contributed one RBI going 1-2.
