Craig Hartlaben put an exclamation point on the win over Navarino by blasting a solo shot over the right field fence landing the beautiful homerun safely out of reach on Washington Street. With that the Broncos put the finishing touches on a dominating performance in a Dairyland League game by beating the Rangers 4-0.
Eric Gruenewald pitched a nine inning complete game shut out, improving his record to .500, 2 - 2. He retired six batters through strikeouts, gave up 8 hits, while only walking 2. With the Broncos up by one, Eric Gruenewald did leave the bases loaded by pitching out of a bases loaded, two out jam in the fifth. In the 8th inning the Rangers managed to get two men on but never came close to scoring. Eric needed only four batters to end the game in the 9th.
Craig Hartlaben had three hits including the one homerun in the eighth to lead the Broncos. Greg Henn and Eric Gruenewald had a hit a piece.
With the win over long time rival Navarino, the Broncos Baseball Club improved to 3-2 in league play and increased their season win total to 11.
